Mouse Resources and Validation Core

The Mouse Resources and Validation Core (MRVC) provides a single centralized source for breeding the Collaborative Cross and Diversity Outbred mice required for each proposed cohort in the CSNA research projects.

The MRVC will also provide CSNA investigators access to the large JAX Repository of over 7,000 unique mouse strains; the JAX Repository will also serve as the centralized repository for fully characterized strains that are created by the CSNA.

Because JAX is an NIH-approved vendor, a status that is required by academic and commercial research institutions for direct importation of strains, the MRVC is able to provide mouse models directly to CSNA labs regardless of their geographic location.

In addition to distribution of extant mouse models, the MRVC will provide capacity for in vivo validation of functional variants through the production of mouse models using CRISPR/Cas9 methods.
